Then we take the road to Besalú, a monumental example of the medieval Catalan world. There is a step away from the spectacular landscape of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa.
We walk along the Old Bridge of Besalú. It is believed that it was built in the eleventh century on a Roman bridge, but it was rebuilt in the fourteenth century.
Then we will visit the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, a place of exceptional landscape value thanks to the thick beech, oak and holm oak forests. Time to eat. In the afternoon, around 4 in the afternoon we will leave for the city of Girona, with its own history, and a charming historical center.
We will finish touring the corners of the city. After hiking through the area enjoying the majestic forests, we return to Santa Susanna.
