Although we can’t guarantee a sighting, since the Northern Lights are dependent on weather conditions, your chances are much higher in our peaceful town of Hvolsvöllur than in the busy streets of Reykjavík. For the best views, you need a location with minimal light pollution—and that’s exactly what makes Hvolsvöllur so ideal. Each evening, we'll keep an eye out for the stunning Aurora. The Midgard team will keep you informed on the Northern Lights forecast and share useful tips. If the forecast isn’t looking favorable at Midgard Base Camp but is promising within a 1-1.5-hour drive, we’ll take you on a special tour to chase those elusive lights.
