Pick up from Kandy- hindu Temple – Sigiriya- Dambulla cave temple-lion rock- kingdom of Polonnaruwa – drop in Kandy
Day 01
You are picked up before 8.00 a.m. from your residence in Kandy and drives straight away to Sri Muththu Mari Amman (kovil) hindu temple, which is the tallest and the most colorful hindu temple of the country.
Then your second destination is Dambulla cave temple, which is the largest and the best preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. The caves were converted in to a temple complex by king Walagamba during the 1st century. There are about 153 buddha status and murals, which covers 2100 square meters. You have to spend around one and half hours to cover entire temple complex.
In the evening you will visit the eight wonder of the world, which contains huge walls, water canals, security guard rooms, natural stoned arches, mirror stone and world famous Sigiri paintings. It is an isolated rock, Kingdom more than 200m in height. You have to spend more than two and half hours. Stay overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 02
You are taken to Polonnaruwa, which was the capital of Sri Lanka for about 200 years and finally the kingdom was transferred to Dambadeniya and Polonnaruwa was concored by Indian king Kalinga Magha. You can visit archeological museum, royal palace,audience hall,swimming pool,sacred quadrangle,shiva devale,pabalu vehera,rankot vihara, kiri vihara,buddha statue at lankatilaka,buddha figures at gal vihara etc.It takes normally 05 to 06 hours to visit entire kingdom in Polonnaruwa.After visiting Polonnaruwa you are dropped back to Kandy.
