5 Days Sumba Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : TAMBOLAKA AIRPORT – WATU MALADONG – BWANNA BEACH (L, D)

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and welcomed by us. The first activity on the Island will be to Watu Maladong, the beach where you can have a look at the enormous big rocks in the middle of the sea. It gives you slightly the feeling that you are in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Because of the big rocks magically coming out of the water. After this, we will continue our journey and we will explore Bwanna beach. Before you arrive there, you have to drive on a sandy road that guides you through a massive field of high grass, which gives a very adventurous feeling. First, we will stop at the viewing point where you can view Watu Maladong and Bwanna Beach. The beach of Bwanna is a long clear colorful sand beach under the majestic cliff heading to the Indian Ocean makes this place extraordinary. Whilst its beauty is unquestionable, the beach is still unknown by most tourists, which makes it almost private and very clean. Later on, we climb down to the beach where the big arc is located. The climb is very steep, so you have to be careful! But once you are there, you will be standing on one of the most beautiful beaches in Indonesia.

Day 2 : RATENGGARO-WEEKURI LAKE – MANDORAK (B, L, D)

After waking up and getting ready for a new day of exploring, you will be picked up at your hotel and we will be heading to Ratenggaro village where you can meet the locals, their native culture, and see the traditional Sumbanese houses. The village is built near a beach which you can visit when you are there. You will have a nice view of the village while standing on the beach. You can see the tops of the houses on the higher ground. After the village, we will bring you to Weekuri Lake. This lake is a saltwater lake in the southwest of Sumba. You can take a dive to experience the blue and clear water of Weekuri and also for a possible cooling down. After that you are all dried up, we will continue our journey to Mandorak Beach which is very close to Weekuri Lake. The beach provides a great and peaceful stay with nice spots. The big opening between two rock ridges will let the clear blue water pass through the beach and also let you look far into the ocean. When you are there, you can also take the higher ground which will give a view of the coastline and the rocky cliffs where you can watch the sunset.

Day 3: TARUNG/WAITABAR VILLAGE – PRAIJING – LAPOPU WATERFALL (B, L, D)

A new day, a new adventure. Today the journey will begin at the village of Tarung/ Waitabar which is located just a few minutes west from Waikabubak. There are two villages at this place but they are built so close to each other that it will look like one big village. The village will give you a welcoming feeling while you look around. Next on our adventure will be the La Popu Waterfall. After a drive through the endless hilly and green landscape of Sumba, you will arrive nearby the waterfall. To visit the waterfall, you will need to do a small hike of approximately 15 minutes and cross a bamboo bridge to get there. There is a nice spot to sit down where you can watch the water find its way down the hill. You can also bring your swimwear to take a dive in the water just in front of the big waterfall and cool down after a long day of adventure.

Day 4 : WAIRINDING HILL – WALAKIRI BEACH SUNSET – WAINGAPU TOWN (B, L, D)

On this day, we will be traveling from West- to East-Sumba. From Waikabubak to Waingapu. Gladly there are a lot of things to see on the way to there. Your first destination will be the “Bukit Wairinding”, which means; the Hills of Wairinding. There is a spot where the view into these hills is amazing. You will be looking at green and endless hills. Sit down for a while on the grass and enjoy the moment. The next stop is at Walakiri beach. We will be watching the sunset while exploring the beach. Don’t hesitate and walk towards the small and magical mangrove trees which are growing inside the water. When the sun has disappeared, we will go back to the hotel where you can take a rest. The final destination of today will be Waingapu the capital city of East-Sumba

Day 5 : BUKIT PERSAUDARAAN – WAINGAPU AIRPORT (B)

The last day of this trip is here. So before you go to the airport, we want to show you one more spot which you will be visiting before you leave the Island. The “Bukit Persaudaraan”, the hills where you can stand on one of the highest points and have a look at the landscape which Sumba has to offer. 5 Days Sumatera Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kualanamu Airport – Bohorok
Upon arrival at Kuala Namu Medan Airport (Morning Flight), meeting service with our guide and transfer to Bohorok located in the southern part of Leuser National Park. You can see Orangutans in Bukit Lawang that are trained to live in their natural habitat.

En-route proceed for Medan city tour. The visits will be at the Great Mosque with its imposing tiled archway with the royal burial ground and one may see also the tall water tower adopted as a symbol of the municipality of Medan back along the main street.

One block to the west across the single-track railway is the Sultan’s Palace; the ceremonial palace of the Sultans of Deli with its yellow trim & typical east coast Malay architecture with living quarters occupied by the Sultan’s families.

Day 2: Full Day Trekking – Explorer Bahorok
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to start for a day trekking by walking up through to the surrounding rain forest that is located at the Eastern edge of Gunung Leuser National Park with a chance to observe various tropical plants including a tangle of enormous trees, twisting lianas, palms, ferns, and weird & wonderful flowers and to luckily see wild animals. A simple box Picnic lunch will be provided.

Afterward, leading to the feeding flat form where the orangutans are fed their twice-daily ration of bananas and milk. Watch the orangutan at the feeding site. Then, following a quite steep trail through the forest down to reach a bend in the river crossing by a cable and pulley-driven dug-out canoe. Then, proceed for walking back to the hotel for Accommodation. Lunch will be at the jungle with the simple traditional picnic lunch.

Day 3: Bahorok – Samosir Island
After breakfast at the lodge, at the appropriate time then proceed driving on the main road to Berastagi via Medan. Upon arrival in Medan then stop at The Church of Mary Annai Velangkanni; the uniqueness of the church lies in the originality of its Indo – Mogul architecture (Tamil Nadu), ornaments & displays of color resembling a towering temple.

Afterward proceed the drive on the forested foothills of the Bukit Barisan where s-turns provide a panoramic view to the delightfully cool and picturesque town of Berastagi through the Nature Reserved of Sibolangit, which lies on an escarpment overlooking the lowlands. Afterward, proceed driving to Berastagi. Upon arrival in Berastagi, proceed driving to the Fruit Market selling wonderfully fresh fruits, flowers, vegetables & other goodies. Then depart to Danau Toba, the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world. Rinjani (miniature of great Rinjani Mountain), holy water spring, and beautiful fresh pool. In this park, the king used to meditate in his old age. Your local guide will escort you to explore the park. Done with Narmada Park, then continue to your next destination, Lingsar Temple. Lingsar Temple is the symbol of harmony between the Sasak tribe (Moslem) and the Balinese tribe (Hindu). This Temple was built by the Balinese king named Anak Agung who once ruled Lombok Island, once a year after the second harvest, local people here will celebrate Perang Topat, Perang means war and topat means Rice cake, so they will throw each other by using Rice cake as a symbol of peace. After exploring this temple, you will continue to your next destination, Senggigi Beach The Tourism Center in Lombok. Day 1 - SUKERARA – SADE - KUTA BEACH -TANJUNG AAN BEACH – BANYUMULEK (L,D)

Upon arrival at Lombok International Airport, meet & greet by local representative. then continue to  Sasak Traditional tour. The tour starts by visiting to Sukerare hand weaving village to see the process of making local cloth and sarong using and simple loom. The weaving process is done by local young ladies. Next visit to Sade Village to see their indigenious sasak tribe. The House where they live in called Bale Tani. The floor of the House is made of buffalo dunk mixed with clay. Last visit to Kuta and Tanjung aan Beach, the exotic beach at south of Lombok continued visit Banyumulek pottery village . Lunch and Dinner at Local Resto. Check In at Montana Premier Senggigi 3*

Day 2 - BATU BOLONG TEMPLE - NARMADA TEMPLE - MAYURA WATER PALACE - ISLAMIC CENTER  (B,L,D)

After breakfast at Hotel,  proceed to Batu Bolong Temple, the temple is located above the black rock Senggigi Beach which has a hole or holes in the middle. With its position that juts into the sea, of course, this temple has its own atmosphere of beauty. This Hindu sacred site at a glance will remind tourists of Pura Tanah Lot in Bali Island, the building of worship located on the shoreline with the position jutting into the sea. continue to Narmada,The name of Narmada is taken from Narmadanadi, the son of a very sacred Ganges River in India. For Hindus, the water is a sacred element that gives life to all beings in this world. Water emanating from the soil (spring) is associated with Tirta Amrita (immortality water) emanating from Kensi Sweta Kamandalu. Formerly the possibility of Narmada name used to name the name of springs that form several ponds and a river in that place. Eventually used to refer to the whole complex of temples and Narmada Park. next to Mayura Water Palace,  The word ‘mayura’ was taken from the Sanskrit language which means peacock bird. At that time, there were many snakes around the temple which disturbed people to do the praying. Day 3 - SASAKU - DEPART LOMBOK  ( B )

After breakfast at the hotel, free at own leisure until time to check out, stop by at Sasaku souvenirs shop and transfer to  Lombok International Airport for flight back home.
