Visit the Reindeer Herd

Description

We will meet you on our reindeer farm surroundings. Then we'll drive you (by snowmobile sledges when there is snow, and by other means in snow free times) through the forest to our reindeer grazing lands and feeding sites. There you will meet hundreds of semi-wild reindeer grazing around. While admiring the reindeer herd, we'll make warm drinks on an open fire or in a Lávvu (a traditional Lapland hut), and taste traditional home made cinnamon rolls and ginger breads. While enjoying the atmosphere, you will learn about reindeer, reindeer herding, reindeer herders' life nowadays and through history, and about local culture, traditions, and nature.

We do not have anything build for tourism purposes. All people you'll meet on our tours are real life reindeer herders with hundreds of years family history in reindeer herding and local life. This is an authentic, real-life reindeer herding and wildlife experience in Lapland.

The tour is private, there will be no other visitors joining on your tour.

Reindeer in the herd are mainly breeding females ranging free in their natural pasture lands, also perfect for nature photography. If you like, you can also choose a reindeer from our herd and adopt it to yourself or as a gift to another person. This way you can stay in touch with us after your visit, and join our everyday life with reindeer from your home.
