Hiking the Hin Lad Waterfall Trail

Description

Koh Samui is much more than its palm-fringed beaches. The island has a lush, jungle-clad interior that is waiting for you to explore.

In this morning tour you will hike the Hin Lad Waterfall. Stunningly beautiful, and not too strenuous, you will be walking on the old Samui trails used by the locals before the days of paved roads.

Follow a jungle trail uphill for about 4-5 kilometres. Although the trail is not steep it is rocky in areas (which means it can get slippery so shoes with a good grip is recommended!).

The trail follows the river uphill through a dense evergreen rainforest setting with palms and creepers. Of course, the forest offers plenty of shade which is somewhat cooling.

You will be stunned by the sight of the river water plunging down the orange hued rocks at Hin Lad, one of the island's most enchanting waterfalls. Don’t forget to take a dip before heading back.

After your rest there you will be walking the same trail down, again at a relaxing pace taking time to enjoy the views and the forest setting.
