When booking this tour around the centre of Santiago, you can pick the time and language of your visit. There are some extra services that can be added to the tour, like having the guide pick you up from your hotel or using an audioguide, so that everyone can listen to the guide at all times through their own earphones. The first part of the tour focuses on the main story of the city: how Saint James came to Galicia and the reason why he is buried in this city. The second part of the visit focuses on those lesser-known parts of the city that cannot be missed, such as the Alameda Park, where you will ‘meet’ the famous Two Marías and enjoy some breath-taking views of the Cathedral. From there, we will go back to the Old Town to visit the Faculty of History and the famous mercado de abastos or food market, where you will have the chance to find out about the best spots to try Galician cuisine while visiting an authentic place usually frequented by locals.
