Description

2-hour guided walking tour, just for your group, the way you want it, through the streets of downtown Vigo.

With this type of visit through the main central streets of Vigo, you can pick the time and language of your visit. There are some extra services that can be added to the tour, like having the guide pick you up from your hotel or using an audioguide, so that everyone can listen to the guide at all times through their own earphones. Although the route of the visit is planned ahead, you can also request that the route be changed or that we pay special attention to a particular topic of your interest, with the possibility of making the visit longer if you want to.

The visit will start at the heart of Vigo, in Praza da Porta do Sol, next to the Sireno statue, the best-known sculpture in the city. Here we will explain the way in which the city has grown, from being a small Celtic settlement on the hills to becoming the most populated city in Galicia. From there, we will go up to the Castillo de San Sebastián, a medieval fortress defending the city with unbeatable views of the whole estuary of Vigo.

The second part of the visit will take us from the castle to another great symbol of the city: the olive tree. After that, we will penetrate into the pedestrian streets of the old town of Vigo in order to explore the most typical traditions of the city. The tour comes to its end right before the estuary, on the promenade. The whole visit will be packed full of entertaining stories and curiosities about relevant figures who have left an important legacy in the history of the city.

Throughout the tour, our local guides accredited by Turismo de Galicia will be happy to provide you with the best advice and recommendations, so that you can keep on enjoying the best places to eat, drink and visit in Vigo on your own.
