ITINERARY

Coliseum & Roman Forum

Your driver will pick you up at the dock of your Ship at 7:30 and bring you to your Rome private guide. Kick-off your Rome shore excursion at the massive Colosseum, where fights between gladiators and beasts took place for the pleasure of bloodthirsty Romans. The Coliseum tour continues to the Rome Forum. As you traverse the area, you are walking in the footsteps of Roman Emperors, bringing more than two millennia of history to life.

Palatine

Unlike other tours, our Coliseum tour includes the Palatine. According to ancient legend, Romulus founded Rome on the Palatine hill in 753 B.C. Following his actions, the Emperors built their opulent homes for the rest of the civilization to enjoy.

Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps

Start your Rome walking tour with the Trevi Fountain. Set of Fellini’s inimitable “La Dolce Vita,” the Trevi Fountain is an iconic site that all visitors seek out if only to toss a coin into its waters to ensure their safe return to Rome. To round off your magical day, proceed to the Spanish Steps and admire the Church of Trinitàdei Monti, which sits at the top of the famous stairwell with the Fontana Della Barcaccia at its foot.

The Pantheon

The next masterpiece to admire on your one day in Rome is the Pantheon. Immaculately preserved and seemingly just a few centuries old, it isn’t easy to believe that the structure was finished in AD 128 by Emperor Hadrian. In the square in front – a gathering place for locals – discover a decorative 16thcentury fountain sitting beneath the Egyptian obelisk.

Piazza Navona

Continue to Piazza Navona, one of the largest squares in all of Rome. The space is popular among tourists for one primary reason: Bernini’s “Fountain of the Four Rivers.” Built to represent The Nile, The Ganges, The Danube, and Rio de la Plata. The structure now sits amidst the artists who arrive to peddle their wares daily.

Navona Square is the last stop of your Rome sightseeing tour with your private guide. The diver will pick you up here to lead you back to your Ship. But your Rome Shore Excursion is not complete without St. Peter’s Square visit.

St. Peter’s Square

Your Shore Excursion to Rome will finish with St. Peter’s Square, where you can marvel at the immense curved colonnades that extend towards the most famous Basilica in the world.
