Private Tour Of Mycenae, Ancient Corinth, Nafplio, Epidaurus & Isthmus Canal From Athens

Description
Enjoy the breathtaking views from the Isthmus Canal. It connects the Ionian Sea with the Aegean Sea via the Corinthian gulf and the Saronic Sea and separates the Peloponnese with the rest of Greece.
We will explore the incredible archaeological site of Ancient Corinth with the fabulous museum, courtyard, temple of Apollo, fountain of Glauke, Sacred Spring, Peirene, Asklepieion, Odeion, Bema, Agora and much more.
Mycenae, the kingdom of Agamemnon is a World Heritage UNESCO Site discovered by H. Schliemann. According to the epics of Homer, the expedition to Troy started from here.
Nafplio was the first capital city of modern Greece. It is a picturesque town with Venetian architecture that the Venetians used to call the Naples of Greece. You can easily see the Venetian fortress of Palamidi on the top of a hill above and the fortified islet of Bourtzi in the old port. The old town was built at the beginning of the 19th century, but buildings still exist from the Venetian time.
During our tour, we will also visit the Cathedral and the church of Saint Spiridon where Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of Greece, was murdered. We will continue to the Syntagma Square and explore its historic buildings from different periods such as the Archaeological Museum, the Vouleftikon that housed the first parliament of the free Greek state and the Old Mosque and Freedom Square honoring our liberty with the help of the French.
This magnificent theatre of Epidaurus was constructed in the late 4th century BC to host religious events to honor the god Asclepius. The theater is famous for its symmetry and it is also unique because of its excellent state of conservation, which allows it to be still in use. Another fact about this theater is the perfect acoustics. During summer, it hosts performances of ancient Greek drama.
Few steps from the Ancient Theatre is the Sanctuary of Asklepios, a very popular healing center in the ancient times. The Archaeological Museum hosts many interesting exhibits from excavations on this site.
