Shore excursion from Livorno to Siena and San Gimignano by private minivan

Description

Your first stop is Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its medieval alleys, Gothic palaces, and timeless traditions. Upon arrival, a licensed professional guide will lead you through the historic center, revealing its most remarkable landmarks. Admire the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with its intricate marble façade, wander through narrow streets lined with noble palaces, and discover hidden corners rich in charm. The tour continues in the spectacular Piazza del Campo, one of Europe’s most beautiful squares, renowned for its shell-like shape and as the stage of the legendary Palio horse race. Here you will also see the Palazzo Pubblico, seat of the city’s government, and the Torre del Mangia, which dominates the skyline.

After some free time for lunch at leisure (not included), the journey takes you across the rolling Tuscan countryside to reach San Gimignano, often called the “Medieval Manhattan.” This small walled town is famous for its striking skyline, once filled with over 70 towers, of which 14 remain today. Stroll at your own pace through Piazza della Cisterna with its historic well, visit the Collegiata to admire splendid frescoes, and soak up the authentic medieval atmosphere. You may also choose to sample the local specialty wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, or treat yourself to a gelato from one of Italy’s most awarded gelaterias.

At the end of the day, relax in your private vehicle on the return journey to Livorno, carrying with you unforgettable memories of two of Tuscany’s most iconic destinations.
