It's hard to beat Indonesia for the sheer range of experiences on offer. on this occasion, We take you on this 16 days of fully organized Indonesia trip to explorer Indonesia Wildlife, Cultural and Leisure. Meet the Orangutan at legendary rehabilitation center at Camp Leakey by Klotok liveaboard crossing the Sekonyer river to explorer Pangkalan Bun National. We then travel up to Yogyakarta to experience the Indonesia rich culture with its world heritage temple of Borobudur. The magnificent Borobudur temple is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument, an ancient site widely considered to be one of the world’s seven wonders. Built-in the 9th century during the reign of the Syailendra dynasty, the temple’s design in Gupta architecture reflects India’s influence on the region, yet there are enough indigenous scenes and elements incorporated to make Borobudur uniquely Indonesian. Trip Highlights
DAY 1: JAKARTA ARRIVAL – HOTEL
Upon your arrival at Jakarta airport, meet and greet by your guide and then transfer to the hotel. Free program.
DAY 2: JAKARTA FLY TO PANGKALAN BUN – ARRIVAL PANGKALAN BUN – ORANGUTAN (B, L, D)
In the morning, fly to Pangkalan Bun. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be picked up by our local staff and take you to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat with a roof that forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The guide’s team includes the boatman, a cook, and an expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the quiet river by the Klotok while observing the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner on the boat and overnight at klotok boat or lodge depend on your choice.
DAY 3: ORANGUTAN EXPLORATION (B, L, D)
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans. At Camp Leakey, you will have the opportunity to trek into the rain forest with your expert guide and the forestry rangers to appreciate the flora as well as perhaps sighting wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch provided on boat. Afternoon visits the feeding station to see rehabilitate orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river overnight at klotok boat or lodge depend on your choice.
DAY 4: PANGKALAN BUN – SEMARANG – YOGYAKARTA (B, L)
At the appropriate time, we sail back to the boat harbor then drive to the airport for about 45 minutes. From the airport of Pangkalan Bun, we fly you to Semarang the capital town of Central Java. From Semarang, we drive for about 4 hours to Yogyakarta, the center of art and culture of the Javanese. Overnight at Yogyakarta.
DAY 5: BOROBUDUR TEMPLE – CANDIREJO VILLAGE TOUR (B, L)
Pick up by your guide at 08.00 and drive to Borobudur. On arrival, climb up the temple of Borobudur till the top of Arupadhatu. Then, from your guide learning the Buddha philosophy by exploring the relief on Borobudur, Then visit Pawon and Mendut Temple. Continue exploring Candirejo village, a traditional Javanese village that is rich in its natural surroundings and being promoted for village tourism, portraying traditional Javanese culture and day life through traditional houses, plantation resources, art performances, farming, and local food. You will participate in daily social activities to feel their real traditional village atmosphere, their culture, and lifestyle. Return to the hotel.
DAY 6: YOGYAKARTA – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE TOUR (B, L)
Pick up by your guide at 08.00 and start your cultural Yogyakarta tour by visit Sultan Royal Palace, Water Castle (Taman Sari), Ngasem Bird Market, Batik Home Industry, and Silverware at Kotagede. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then the journey continues to visit Prambanan temple, the most important Hindu temple built on compound IX century by the three temples dedicated to Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu. Return to the hotel.
DAY 7: YOGYAKARTA –SURABAYA BY TRAIN – BROMO AREA (B)
From Yogyakarta drive to Tugu station and take a morning train to Surabaya Station, it will take around 4,5 hours. Arrive at Surabaya Station and continue driving to the Bromo area for around 3 hours. Stay overnight at the lodge around Bromo.
DAY 8: BROMO SUNRISE TRIP – KALIBARU (B, L)
At 3 am the 4WD will bring us to the world’s most famous viewpoint at Mt. Pananjakan (2,750 m) on the rim of the Tengger caldera to enjoy the sunrise breaking over the volcano cones including Mt. Bromo and an active Mt. Semeru in the background. The views are breathtaking. We continue across the sand sea to the active Mt. Bromo volcano and climb the 2245 steps to visit the crater (2,500 m). Horseback ride, then the 4WD will bring you back to the lodge for breakfast. After a break, check out and drive to Kalibaru for your accommodation. Lunch at a local restaurant en route. Stop in one of the beaches in Jember, either Papuma beach or Watu Ulo beach, before check-in and rest at your accommodation.
DAY 9: KALIBARU – KETAPANG BANYUWANGI (B, L)
After breakfast, check out and start the tour to the Kalibaru plantation (see the processing of coffee, rubber, chocolate, etc). Continue to drive around 2 hours for your accommodation in Ketapang, Banyuwangi for check-in and rest. Lunch at a local restaurant en route. Free program till night.
DAY 10: IJEN BLUE FIRE TOUR – UBUD BALI (B, L)
At midnight we will pick you up from your hotel and start the trip to see Blue Fire (not guaranteed to see it, depending on the weather). Then short transfer to Paltuding Ranger Post for starting Ijen Tour – Ijen Crater shows a special type of volcanic feature common to Indonesia, about 1 km in diameter and 175 meters deep. The floor is covered completely by a warm lake, milky blue-green in color, held back by a dam built many years ago by the Dutch, in order to keep the hot mineral, laden water from raining for the crop lands below. Afterward, rejoin your car and drive back to the hotel. After a break, check out and drive to Ketapang harbor and cross to Bali. On arrival in Gilimanuk harbor, Bali, continue to drive to for your accommodation in Ubud. Lunch en route.
DAY 11: BALI TOUR (B, L)
After breakfast, starting to see the Barong and Keris Dance. The dance story presents the endless metaphysical battle between goodness and badness. The tour will be continued to monkey forest and Ubud the ancient King Palace of Puri Saren and the home of painters with their ‘expressionistic Ubud style paintings, Sribatu to explore the nice spices gardens. You will then stop for lunch at Kintamani Volcano while seeing the wonderful view of the active volcano and Lake Batur. After that, you will go to Sebatu, the holy spring water temple, Tegalalang the beautiful view of rice terraces, Goa Gajah the elephant cave temple.
DAY 12: TAMAN AYUN -TANAH LOT – ULUWATU TEMPLE & KECAK DANCE TOUR (B, L)
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Today you will visit one of Bali’s most beautiful temples called Taman Ayun. Then continue to Tanah Lot. In the afternoon we will drive to Uluwatu Temple and enjoy the Kecak Dance, a dramatic performance. The dance will be performed on an open stage on a cliff in the Uluwatu Temple complex. Proceed to the famous open-air beachfront café at Jimbaran Beach for having dinner (personal expense). Then transfer to your hotel in the Kuta area.
DAY 13: BALI – LABUAN BAJO – RINCA ISLAND – KALONG ISLAND (B, L, D)
Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo Airport, you will be met by our local staff and with a private car take a short drive to the harbor to board on your boat and cruise to Rinca Island for about 2 hours away. Lunch will be served on the boat. Rinca is one of the small islands in the Komodo National Park, home to various species of wild animals such as black buffalos, pigs, deer, monkeys, the Komodo Dragon, and birds. Together with your guide and the forestry rangers, you will trek on this island in search of the komodo dragons and other wildlife as well as the exotic fauna. From Rinca Island, we will then proceed boating to Kalong Island, a small island covered by the mangrove trees that surround the island and is the ideal habitat for the bats (flying foxes). In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a spectacular view when thousand of bats flying out from the island in search of food. Adventurous, healthy, and fresh dinner will be prepared on the boat.
DAY 14: KALONG ISLAND – KOMODO ISLAND – PINK BEACH – LABUAN BAJO (B, L)
In the morning, follow the trail to reach Banunggulung the former feeding ground to watch the Komodo Dragons. It is about two km one-way walking. About afternoon sail to Pantai Merah – the pink-colored sand beach – with beautiful coral garden, good for swimming and snorkeling. Lunch on board. Afternoon return to Labuan Bajo, en route stop at one of several occupied islands to visit the home of the seafaring tribes. Afterward, transfer you to the hotel for rest and overnight.
DAY 15: LABUAN BAJO AIRPORT – BALI (B)
After breakfast visits the famous Batu Cermin Cave. Batu Cermin is the Indonesian name for Mirror Rock. Shown is the limestone Mirror Rock that gives this outcrop its name. Depending on the time of year the sun shines into the canyon between 9 am. and 10 am. and is reflected on the walls. This creates a spectacular visual effect. Transfer to Airport.
DAY 16: BALI DEPARTURE – NEXT DESTINATION (B)
The trip might be over but the memories will last a lifetime. Today we gather our stuff, check out and all make our way back to the Airport where we say our final farewells.
