Rinjani Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Hotel – Jebak Gawah – Base Camp I, II & III
Pick up from your hotel at 6 am, by Air Conditioned vehicle to TNGR Aik Berik, arrive at Aik Berik, then register at the National Park office. Take a short briefing for trekking then start walking from the National Park gate to Jebak Gawah for around 25 minutes, the banana forest will cover you along the way to Jebak Gawah. From Jebak Gawah to pos 1 takes 2 hours walking up through the rain forest, rest point available along the way to pos 2, passing through rain forest will also give you experience during a gentle walk to pos 2. From pos 2 to pos 3, you will pass 3 hours walking up through savanna while enjoying the beauty of Kondo hill that line next to you, monkey and wild animals also would be another attraction on your way to pos 3. Arrive at post 3 then overnight. Enjoy the night with a bonfire while enjoying your dinner that has been well prepared by our team, complete the joyful night with a cup of tea or coffee.

Day 2: Post III – Post IV – Pelawangan
After breakfast and coffee time, start walking up to Pelawangan, along the way to Pelawangan you will pass through pos 4, stepping a challenging trail starts from pos 3 to pos 4 for 2 hours until you get a gentle footstep, along the way you can see a waterfall that falls around 1 km from your standpoint, beating a challenging trail to pos 4 will blow your adrenaline to pass through. Taking a rest at pos 4 and continue to walk to Pelawangan overnight. When you arrive at Pelawangan, all your effort will be paid by the wonderful view at the crater rim, with sweeping views across the Segara Anak Lake to the summit of Mt. Rinjani, within the crater, beautifully sits Mt. Baru Jari that continuing active until now and sometimes erupting, misty cloud will also impress your moment. Overnight at Pelawangan, a served dinner, coffee, or tea will accompany your wonderful night at the crater, play the night with a bonfire to frame the moment. Take a rest for tomorrow’s sunrise

Day 3: Pelawangan, Basecamp IV, III, II, I – Jebak Gawah – Hotel
Your guide will wake you up at the proper time for sunrise while enjoying morning coffee at the crater rim as a memorable moment to frame. After enjoying the view then enjoy breakfast that has been served for you, after breakfast then descent down to Aik Berik village through challenging footsteps and back into the shade of the rain forest. After about seven to eight hours (depend on your speed) walking from the rim, the trek ends at Rinjani Trek Centre on the road head to Aik Berik gate, and transfer back to your hotel by our private car.

Know before you go

Most trekkers will carry a small pack or day pack with personal items such as clothes, toiletries, and photography gear. Keep the gear to a minimum and don’t take anything up the mountain that you don’t have to! During the trek, you will just have to carry your small day pack with essential items such as sunglasses, sunscreen, water, etc. Porters are employed to carry the rest of your gear on the trek. Please keep this to a minimum while on the trek. the following list of items suggested to carry during the Rinjani trek:

o    Sun block/lotion, hat/cap, sunglasses

o    High sided trek boots with good ankle support

o    Small lightweight/quick-dry towel

o    Max 5 T-Shirts

o    Photography gears
