Includes trekking to Ketambe of Gunung Leuser National Park to meet with the Orangutan. Sumatera Orangutan & Lake Toba Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kuala Namu Airport – Medan
Arrive at Kualanamu International airport, pick up by our driver and then drive to hotel in Medan city, afternoon free at own leisure.

Day 2: Medan – Berastagi
Medan City Tour After Breakfast, visiting Sultan Palace, Grand Mosque, Chinese temple, Hindu’s temple and Kesawan Area” The old center of Medan city) then drive to Brastagi a cool and pleasant mountain area, on the way passing Sembahe and Sibolangit, arrival at Brastagi visiting Lhumbini Garden with its duplicate of Shwedagon temple and then visiting fruit market and Gundaling hill to see the fantastic view to Sibayak and Sinabung Volcano, afternoon check in to hotel.

Day 3: Berastagi – Ketambe
Today we head up to Ketambe after breakfast, on the way visit Batak Karo traditional village at Lingga and then continue drive bypassing Bukit Barisan with a stop at several interesting places, arrival at Ketambe check in to the simple guest house.

Day 4: Full Day Trekking
This day you will start full-day trekking Leuser National Park of Ketambe, to explore the primary tropical rain forest with their wildlife living in their natural habitat. You will go deep into the jungle where you have a chance to see the wild Orangutans, Gibbons, Monkeys, Deer, Wild Pigs, and other kinds of birds. You will also see special plants and insects in the Sumatra jungle. You may enjoy a hot, warm, and cold bath as the hot water is flowing into the river and mix up with the cold. Arriving at your accommodation in the afternoon, free in your own leisure time.

Day 5: Ketambe – Samosir Island
Today we are continuing our journey to Samosir island via Sidikalang and Tele and at Tele stop to enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Toba, afternoon arrival at Samosir Island check in to hotel.

Day 6: Samosir Island Excursion
After breakfast excursion on Samosir Island by car, visiting several Batak Toba traditional villages :
– Ambarita : To see stone chairs and table stone the old meeting place of Sialagan Kings.
– Simanindo : To see Batak Toba traditional dance and museum.
– Pangururan : To see the view of Lake Toba and Hot springs water.
– Tomok : To see the old tomb of Sidabutar Kings
along On this trip also possible to stop at school to see the activities of young children in the school, visiting the village where the people make traditional hand weaving.+ stop also at scenic places like the graves! Afternoon return back to the hotel.

Day 7: Samosir Island – Airport
After breakfast crossing back to Parapat and then drive Medan via Pematang Siantar and Tebing Tinggi, stop will be made at several interesting places, this trip will take about 5 hours driving. Arrive in Medan directly transfer to the airport for your flight to next destination. Trip concludes.
