Elephant Transit Home: supported by the Born Free Foundation, the complex is a halfway house for orphaned elephants. After rehabilitation, the elephants are released back into the wild, many into the Uda Walawe National Park.
Udawalawe National Park: Spanning over 30,821 hectares, the national park is located in the centre of Udawalawe reservoir fed by the Walawe River. The Park is known as one of the ideal spots to view elephants at close range.

Know before you go
Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Sri Lanka. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Shoes should be removed before entering a temple or private house. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay. The validity of the passport must be six months from the date of departure. Please note that all clients will need to check the website and obtain a visa prior to arrival in Sri Lanka excluding citizens of Singapore and Maldives.
