Girona is a city in the Catalonia region, in the northeast of Spain, next to the Oñar river. It is known for its medieval architecture, the Old Walled Quarter (Barri Vell) and the Roman ruins of the Força Vella fortress. The ornamental gardens border the Archaeological Walk. + The Costa Brava is the name assigned to the coastal area of Spain that begins in Blanes and ends at the border with France, in Portbou. It limits to the north with the Costa Vermella and to the south with the Costa del Maresme. «Costa brava» is, since time immemorial, a locution typical of seafarers. In the seafaring environments, the rugged and rocky coast was called and is called the Costa Brava, with characteristics analogous to the coast of Mallorca but in Girona.
