Huangshan: prefecture-level city in southern Anhui province, located in the mountainous and rocky landscape of the Yellow Mountain Scenery, a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature, as well as modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China's major tourist destinations

Mt. Huangshan: Yellow Mountain, 'the loveliest mountain of China' that became a pilgrimage centre for poets, painters and other artists due to its fascinating scenery, romantic sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, fresh pine trees and hot springs

Hongcun Village: “the ancient village in Chinese paintings” because of Anhui-style architecture, so representative for China. This 900 years old buildings attract many directors, artists and it was listed as the World Heritage Site

Know before you go

Comfortable and light clothing is best suited to travel in the warm months and warm clothing in the colder months in China. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or sparse clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sunglasses and a hat can be very useful during your stay.
