Waimangu Morning Trip:
Experience the Waimangu Volcanic Valley on a tour that departs Rotorua at 9:15am (pickups start at 8:45am, or you can meet the group at a centrally-located departure point). Travel the Thermal Highway on your way to the site. Upon arrival at the volcanic valley you'll have the morning to explore before departing Waimangu at 12.30pm for a 1.15pm arrival back into Rotorua.
Please note: If you'd like to extend your time at the Waimangu, you'll have the option to depart Waimangu at 3.15pm for a 4pm arrival back into Rotorua.
Wai-O-Tapu and Waimangu Geothermal Combo:
Following the morning to to Waimangu Volcanic Valley, continue to Wai-O-Tapu. Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is a spectacular showcase of New Zealand’s most colorful and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of volcanic activity. The largest mud pool in New Zealand, it was originally the site of a large mud volcano which was destroyed through erosion in the 1920’s
Waimangu and Hobbiton Movie Set Tour:
Following the morning to to Waimangu, continue to the Hobbiton Movie Set, the film site for Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. You'll tour the set with a guide, finishing in Rotorua 6:30-7pm.
Wai-O-Tapu and Whakarewarewa Living Maori Village Combo:
Following the morning to to Waimangu, continue to Whakarewarewa Living Maori Village for a 1 hour village Tour and 30 minute Maori Cultural performance. There is also time before your Village tour starts to grab a traditional Hangi Lunch at the Cafe in the Village (extra cost). Finishing in Rotorua at 4pm.
Waimangu and Huka Falls Combo:
Following the morning to to Waimangu, continue to Huka Falls (approx 30 minute drive). You will have 30 minutes at Huka falls before heading into Taupo and then returning to Rotorua. You also have the option of finishing your day in Taupo.
