Let us show some of the counties most charming fishing villages or take a leisurely journey through the scenic Exmoor national Park.

Clovelly, a picturesque, ancient, fishing village where there is no vehicular traffic, just donkeys and sledges the steep cobbled street tumbles down past gleaming white cottages to the tiny, deep-blue ancient fishing harbour and 14th Century Quay.

Lynton and Lynmouth known as @Little Switzerland’ are twinned coastal villages one above the other. Lynton with its steep woodlands, river gorges and rocky walking trails has an iconic Town Hall and host a small knot of shopping streets with antique shops and cafes. While 600 feet below is the small village of Lynmouth around a tiny harbour with a couple of pubs and rocky picturesque beach with a stone walkway out to sea.

The famous Lynton Cliff Railway built 125 years ago to allow travel between the villages is entirely water powered with the two cars permanently attached to each other by hauling cables. This unique mode of transportation makes an extremely exciting way to travel.

Nearby is Arlington Court, an unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor and a family home for over 500 years and home to The National Trust Carriage Museum in the stables has a vehicle for every occasion from the cradle to the grave. Constitution.

A day visit to Dartingdon Crystal, one of the few remaining manufactures of hand crafted crystal in the Uk. You can tour the factory and browse for gifts in the factory shop.In the afternoon why not try RHS Garden Rosemoor nestled in a sheltered valley between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks that blends formal and informal plantings giving a wonderful effect.

Why not try two of north Devon’s most popular towns. Ilfracombe has been welcoming holidaymakers for many years with its harbour, cliffs world famous aquarium and unique tunnel beaches. Ilfracombe’s reputation as the culinary and cultural hub of North Devon has been steadily growing for the past few years, with many visitors referring to it as the new St. Ives with surfers and the opening of Damien Hirst’s hangout The Quay.

Bideford was once Britain’s third largest port and while it still has maritime connections, these days, it is more widely known as being a thriving shopping centre, with a historic Pannier Market as well as being the home to the Atlantic Village outlet, where you can find your favourite brands at bargain prices. Bideford is the perfect place for a spot of retail therapy, between the brand names at the outlets and the quirky shops that line the streets,
