Porto in the Morning - Private Panoramic Tour

Description

Why should you visit Porto? We will show you

Porto is a city with a thousand charms and a story to impress. One of them is the fact that it is the city that gave Portugal its name.

Today, with a renewed face, Porto has thousands of surprises waiting for you. This riverside city par excellence has a unique urban landscape and origins that take you back to the year 200 B.C. It was awarded the distinction of UNESCO World Heritage status in 1996.

It was built along on slopes and has a breath-taking view of the Atlantic.

That's more than enough reasons to visit, isn’t it?

Streets that are museums, with canvases painted in blue and white.

In Porto, the monuments are works of art, decorated with panels of coloured tiles or in shades of blue and white, symbol of the cultural identity of Portugal.

These tell of stories and events that do not let us forget the most illustrious characters in the history of the country. They record their values, beliefs, and accounts of their customs.

The beauty of their churches represents the faith of their people.

In Portugal, everyone knows that Porto offers a warm welcome. For many, it welcomes like nowhere else. Here lives a people who are always ready to help those in need.

A tour with "must-see" stops.

What characterizes this tour is the possibility of stopping whenever possible next to the emblematic buildings of the historic centre of the city.

It is also possible to visit, and in some cases stop to take beautiful photographs of the city, the six bridges that connect Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia.

We continue the tour towards Foz, “the mouth of the river”. There, it is possible to observe where the Douro joins the Atlantic.

We returned to Matosinhos by the sea. This former fishing village has several points of interest, among them its beautiful cruise terminal, fish market and, of course, restaurants. Many of them are famous as top exponents of the region's cuisine. Here you can taste the best fish you've eat in your life at prices that invite you to sit down and enjoy a meal you won't soon forget.

See Boavista and Gaia.

It is there that we return to Porto, climbing the mythical Avenida da Boavista, the largest avenue in the city at 5.5 km long. In it, we will find some of the most visited points of Invicta, including City Park. With its 83 hectares of greenery, it is the largest urban park in Portugal. A little higher, at the imposing Rotunda da Boavista, is the Casa da Música, inaugurated in 2005.

To finish, we cross the Douro River over the emblematic Arrábida Bridge. Did you know that when it was built in 1963, it had the largest reinforced concrete arch in the world?

We stopped at Jardim do Morro, laid our eyes in the Douro and savoured what is, for many, the best view over the city of Porto.

Our tour ends next to the magnificent Monastery of Serra do Pilar, in Vila Nova de Gaia.

You cannot walk away with a dry mouth.

A walk through Porto without visiting one of the unmissable Port wine cellars.

These are situated on the slopes of Vila Nova de Gaia, facing the historic centre of Porto. Here you will learn the history of Port Wine, be close to thousands of oak barrels filled with this nectar of the Gods and have the chance to taste some of these incomparable wines.

Don't forget that you can still visit one of the most iconic Casas de Fado do Porto in the evening and listen to a live concert of traditional Portuguese music.
