Korouoma Canyon Frozen Waterfalls
Description
The trip departs from Rovaniemi where your outdoor guide will pick you up. They will then drive you in the direction of the canyon and the nature reserve of Korouoma (a one-way journey takes around 1h30).
Once arrived, you will start hiking down into the canyon and get to the best spots to admire the frozen waterfalls. The protected reserve also offers beautiful nature and picturesque snowy landscapes.
Some of the most impressive waterfalls are famous for ice-climbing, and you may spot some brave adventurers climbing the ice walls as you hiked along the canyon.
In total, the hike is around 5 km. Along the way, your expert outdoor guide will share with you their knowledge about arctic nature, teach you some survival tips and offer you all their passion for Lapland. At some point, you will enjoy a delicious Finnish barbecue lunch around the open fire to warm up and fill your stomach.
You will finally drive back to Rovaniemi, for a memorable day trip into pure Lapland nature.

Know before you go
Participants must arrive prepared with suitable clothing for cold weather. We may offer some winter overalls and winter boots to rent (please request them before the trip). Ice-cleats will be offered to all participants (included in the price) in order to feel confident in walking on icy tracks and ensure safety during the whole experience.
A wilderness barbecue lunch will be provided during the tours departing in the morning. We however recommend to bring with you some extra snacks or a bottle of water if you feel the need to. For afternoon departures, hot drinks and light sweet snack are provided.
