Susur Sungai Cikadu, River Experience: Buffer Zone KEK Tanjung

Description

Tanjung Lesung (Indonesian: Pantai Tanjung Lesung) lies approximately 170 kilometers southwest of Jakarta on the beach in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, and covers 1,500 hectares of the untouched peninsula facing the Indian Ocean.  It is accessible by new toll road from Jakarta in approximately 2.5 hours. It is known as a beach resort with sea views, having a 15-kilometer white sand coastline and also marine life where visitors can enjoy snorkeling, diving as well as fishing.

The area has been declared as a "cultural heritage" since the location is near Ujung Kulon National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Mount Krakatau, and Anak Krakatau of the child of the Krakatoa volcano, which recorded the loudest sound ever heard in modern history in its 1883 eruption; and a unique Badui indigenous cultural site. Tanjung Lesung was launched by the Indonesian government as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the tourism sector (Indonesian: Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus).
