Ben More Assynt & Conival
Description
Ben More Assynt and Conival are the only Munros in Assynt (mountains over 3000feet/915 metres.
They are two Rocky Mountains connected by a fine ridge which together offer a somewhat challenging but rewarding day out over rough terrain.
The summits open up amazing views over a remote and remarkable landscape in a geologically fascinating area of the northwest highlands. Ben More Assynt, which translates as ‘Big mountain of Assynt’ is the highest point in Sutherland, with a height of 998 metres.
They are iconic mountains and a must-do for Munro enthusiasts and lovers of wild areas. A wonderful and memorable day out in a stunning area of natural beauty.
Walk details: 10.75 miles, 17.25 km - Ascent 1075 m, Descent 1075 - Walking time 8.5 - 9.5 h
