Northern Lights snowmobile safari - Exclusive wilderness experience in Levi

Description

When the sun sets, the blue darkness of the Arctic night takes over — and it’s time to begin your Northern Lights snowmobile adventure in Levi. Engines roar to life as we head into the silent wilderness, speeding across snowy fields and frozen wetlands under the vast open sky.

Whether it’s the glowing moon, a clear starry night, a snowy night, or the breathtaking aurora borealis dancing above, every ride brings its own magic.

A unique feature of this tour is that a substantial part of the route runs through privately owned land, ensuring a fully private and uninterrupted experience. These exclusive trails are reserved for our groups only — no other snowmobiles or vehicles are allowed, giving you a true sense of Arctic isolation and serenity.

Midway through the snowmobile safari, we’ll stop at a private wilderness hut (kota), set on a vast frozen swamp. The location offers 360-degree unobstructed sky views, especially to the north, making it one of the best Northern Lights viewing spots in the Levi area. Far from roads, artificial lights, and crowds, this secluded site is completely free of light pollution — the perfect setting for peaceful, uninterrupted aurora watching.

And best of all, thanks to its position on private land, this stopover guarantees a truly exclusive experience — a rare luxury on popular Lapland aurora safaris.

Inside the hut, you’ll warm up by the open fire, grill a sausage, and enjoy a heart-warming hot drink while waiting for the Arctic sky to come alive.

The tour starts with a pickup from your accommodation and transfer to our safari house. There, you’ll gear up with thermal equipment: a snowmobile suit, boots, mittens, helmet, balaclava, and woolen socks — all designed to keep you warm and dry.

Your guide will provide a safety briefing and driving instructions — and then you’re ready to hit the trail.

Know before you go

  • Please take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.
  • We recommend wearing thermal body-wear + multilayer clothing and woolen socks. You will get warm outer clothing and boots before the safari.
  • For those people who consider self-rental: out there you’ll be surrounded by almost total whiteness, so it’s quite easy to lose one’s way for the first time, that’s why to guarantee the quality time, we highly recommend for the first time to go on an organized safari with an experienced local guide.
