Bamboo Bike Binondo Food Tour

Description

Intramuros, literally translated as “within the walls”, is the former center of ecclesiastical and commercial power.

Shielded from the rest of the city by perfectly preserved high walls, Intramuros is a quiet area and is home to the colonial heritage of great interest.

Explore the walled city on bamboo bikes hand-made by bamboo bike builders (aka Bambuilders) from Gawad Kalinga, a Philippine based community development organization for the poor.

From Intramuros, head to Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world (predating the Spanish colonial period).

Binondo is home to Chinese cuisine refined with local taste through the centuries, a seamless fusion of cultures that can only be achieved through generations of coexistence.

After working up an appetite in Intramuros, it’s time to indulge in one of the many restaurants lined up along Ongpin Street, with several “food stops” to sample the authentic local cuisine.
