3-Day South East Photography Tour With Sindri: Local's Touch and Dinner at My Home

Description

Join Sindri for a 3-day photography experience on Iceland’s stunning southeast coast. As a local guide with over a decade of experience, I’ll take you to my favourite photography locations—places that offer iconic views and perspectives most visitors never get to see. This tour is designed to combine adventure, photography, and authentic local experiences, all in a small group setting.

Tour Highlights

Over the course of three days, we’ll visit some of the most photogenic spots in the South East, including:

  • Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, where icebergs meet the sea.
  • Heinabergslón and Fláajökull Overview, showcasing the beauty of Iceland’s glaciers.
  • Stokksnes and Suðurfjara (Melatangi) offer dramatic coastal scenery.
  • Bergárfoss and Skútafoss are two hidden waterfalls perfect for capturing unique shots.
  • Höfn Coastline provides sweeping views of glaciers from afar.
  • Early Morning Photography captures the soft light of dawn in stunning locations.
  • Meet my Family, Sharing a home-cooked meal with my family

In addition, we’ll take a glacier walk to explore the ice up close, which will provide even more incredible photographic opportunities.

Tour Schedule and Meeting Point

The tour begins at Haukafell Camping on the first day at 13:00 (1:00 PM) and concludes around 17:00 (5:00 PM) on the final day. This schedule allows for a mix of daytime exploration and photography during the best light conditions.

Cultural Experience

One evening, you’ll be invited to my home in Höfn to share a home-cooked meal with my wife, Fanney, and our two children. This is a chance to connect with Icelandic culture and hear stories about the region from a local perspective.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at Haukafell Camping, a remote site beloved by locals for its natural beauty. Accommodations will be in spacious 16m² tents equipped with:

  • Two 90cm-wide beds with down duvets, pillows, and linens.
  • Nightstands, chairs, and a small table for added comfort.

A single-occupancy option is available at an additional cost. Alternative arrangements can be made for those who prefer other accommodations, though this may significantly increase the price. Staying at Haukafell enhances the overall experience by keeping the tour focused on adventure and nature.

Fitness and Equipment Requirements

This tour is rated easy to moderate. Participants should be able to walk 7–8 kilometres with their photography gear. Please bring:

  • A camera and tripod.
