Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (2 Days & 1 Night)

Make the most of your limited time in Peru on a 2-day small-group Inca Trail Tour. After a comfortable transfer from Cusco, follow your guide on an all-day hike on the iconic route. 

Along the way, visit the archeological sites of Chacha Bamba, Winay Wayna, and Inti Punku. Enjoy a dinner in Aguas Calientes, then sleep comfortably in provided accommodation. 

The following morning, take a guided tour of Machu Picchu, then have free time to explore.  

Day 1:  

Start your day with a pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco and a transfer to Ollantaytambo. Board a train to Ollantaytambo to km 104. Upon arrival, visit the archaeological sites of Chachabamba, which is located at an altitude of 2250 meters above sea level, where our tour guide will be waiting for you.  

Observe varieties of agricultural products that are currently taken to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). Then, begin your hike to Wiñay Wayna. 

Hike to Inti Punku or Sun Gate, where you will have the first amazing view of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. Continue with the hike to Machu Picchu where you will appreciate the magic of this beautiful place.  

Return to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town) and have dinner. Talk with your guide about the tour of the next day before sleeping comfortably in provided accommodation. 

Day 2:  

Start your day bright and early, our tour guide willmeet with you and then setting out for the Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu. As some of the first visitors, board the bus that takes you to the archaeological complex. 

Along the way, savor your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, majestically nestled among the mountains overlooking the Urubamba River.  Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, embark on a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring the most iconic areas. 

Delve into the site's rich history, significance, and spiritual beliefs while marveling at the stunning Incan architecture.  Afterward, catch your transport back to Aguas Calientes. Return to Cusco by train and bus to your hotel (Cusco dowtown).
