Tasting Tour at the Historic Market of Padua

With the Padua Tasting tour you will have the opportunity to visit the city of Padua in a different way: tasting some of its delicacies and discovering its hidden sides that only real Padovans know.

We will walk around the city stopping at some of the most typical and traditional places, the stops chosen will depend on the seasonality and the weekly openings of the producers with whom we collaborate.

There will be a stop at the Padua Historical Market, which is located in the center of the city, between the two central squares of Padua (Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta) on the ground floor of the Palazzo della Ragione (1218), one of the places in Padua that received the title of UNESCO Heritage in July 2021.

The upper floor of the Palace, called Il Salone, is a large painted room, one of the largest medieval rooms in the world, while on the ground floor, the ancient Sottosala market, has existed for 8 centuries. The market has become a symbol of the city of Padua and a unique place in the world, a meeting place between the passion of food artisans and the unconditional love of consumers.

THE EXPERIENCE

The Padua Tasting Tour includes a walk around the center of Padua, focusing on less traveled streets and does not include entrances to monuments. Instead, we will stop in the rooms designated for the various tastings.

The tastings take place in street food mode (standing). Consider that this is not a seated tasting or a lunch in a restaurant, especially if there are children or the elderly. It is not heated, in winter it could be very cold. In case of rain, the market is covered.

The Padua Tasting Tour menu includes 1 glass of wine, 1 cheese tasting, 1 tasting of local cold cuts or vegetarian specialties, 1 slice of 'Pazientina' cake and Caffè Pedrocchi (or spritz + sandwich as an alternative).
