National Museum of Scotland In-App Audio Tour: Exploring the World History

Description

With over 2 million visitors in 2019, the National Museum of Scotland became the country's most popular visitor attraction. That is no wonder because its collection contains over 12 million amazing objects and artifacts! With this audio tour, you will not get lost in the endless labyrinth, as it will guide you to the museum's greatest highlights.

The tour starts in the Grand Gallery – one of Scotland's most beautiful spaces. There will be three paths to follow: Natural World, World Cultures, and Scottish History and Archeology galleries. In addition, you will meet the legendary Dolly the Sheep and learn that she wasn't the first-ever cloned mammal!

Exploring Natural World, you will admire the wildlife diversity and see any animal you can think of: from the prehistoric T. Rex to the unique Scottish wildcat.

Visiting the World Cultures galleries is almost the same as getting a ticket to a round-the-world tour. You will see masks used during African masquerades, touch natural materials that protect people from Arctic colds, and learn about the life on the islands lost in the Pacific, where people feel ocean water in their blood.

The Scottish galleries will reveal the history of Scotland from ancient times till the present day. Look at the legacy left by Mary Queen of Scots and see the iconic Lewis chessmen that inspired the 'wizard chess' from Harry Potter movies. Finally, look at the mystery that has never been solved – the uncanny Arthur's Seat coffins.
