Chocolate Tour and Tasting with Chocolate Bar Making Workshop for Large Groups (24 - 60 participants)

Join us York Cocoa Works with your party to explore the chocolate making process with a lesson in chocolate tasting and hands on chocolate making! Your group will learn how chocolate is made before crafting your own chocolate bar to your own design and taste.

York was a city famed for some of the most recognised chocolate bars of all time. Join us to learn how our chocolate is made before creating your own signature chocolate bar and craft a fabulous gift from York, the Chocolate City.

During your visit our chocolate team will share the secrets how we transform cocoa into chocolate. You will discover our origins and learn the rich history of chocolate making in York before taking a peek into our manufactory and watching our chocolate being made. You will sample the chocolate we make from cocoa beans all around the world, experiencing the different strengths and flavour notes in our range.

Guests will select their own choice of white, milk or dark chocolate before learning how to temper, add their own choice of seasonal flavours and decorations and craft their own 150g chocolate bar.

This workshop includes a tasting of a range of chocolates and cocoa ingredients, some can be sweet, bitter and creamy, please make our team aware if you have any special dietary requirements amongst your party so we can look after you on your visit.

Our Chocolate Bar Making workshops are perfect for catering for a large group all with different tastes, as everyone gets to make their own chocolate bar to their own design.

Our facilities at York Cocoa Works can cater for a single group of up to 26 or split across 2 smaller groups totalling 38 participants. We also work with neighbouring partner venues to be able to cater for larger groups, after hours you can take over our site to enjoy a chocolate party with up to 60 participants or can cater for your group with consecutive sessions of 20 - 24 per session.

You may prefer to combine our chocolate tasting activity with a concurrent chocolate making activity to enable us to welcome a fuller size group across our facilities.

Chocolate Manufactory Tour and Bar Making Workshop

Available for groups between 24 and 60 participants for an exclusive workshop in our Cocoa Academy at York Cocoa Works

£36.50 per adult and £32.50 per child (aged 5 - 16 years)

Duration: 2 hours

Chocolate to take home: 150g Chocolate Bar per participant

Please allow at least 20 minutes for the chocolate to set once made.

At York Cocoa Works looking after our chocolate loving guests is one of our most important priorities. We believe the chocolate industry should be open and transparent so our guests can make informed choices. We therefore want to ensure that we are able to cater for all of our visitors, whatever their needs. This workshop is accessible to most dietary requirements but we appreciate you sharing any details of specific needs that you or participants in your party have when booking.

To book please select your preferred date and time from our reservation calendar and make payment of your non-refundable deposit which will secure your preferred date and time in our calendar.

Upon booking you will receive a confirmation of your event with us and further details to help you plan your trip to York.

You will receive an update from us approximately 3 weeks prior to your workshop requesting final numbers and special dietary requirements, outstanding balances will be invoiced based upon your anticipated numbers at this time, please get in touch if your numbers change or you need to make any further amendments before this time.

Your final balance should be paid 2 weeks before your workshop.

Please note this workshop has a limited capacity, please get in touch with our team if the numbers in your party change so we can cater for your requirements. It may be necessary to alter the timing of your booking if your group size drops below 24 or exceeds 60 participants.

Please be aware that the workshop will commence at the time you have booked, our team will always endeavour to welcome late arrivals, however chocolate does not like being rushed and this may impact the full experience you are able to have with us.
