Peniche, full of remains dating back more than 180 million years, centuries of remarkable history and occupied by various populations since prehistoric times. Having as its basis the fishing industry and agriculture until today, it was also the bottom of the sea and today it is connected by an isthmus to the mainland, thus ceasing to be an island and becoming a peninsula. Starting with the Lower Jurassic, we find landmark fossils of this period, limestone cliffs or a volcanic breccia.
