Description

The Combo tour take you from Akureyri to these places, it is fully guided with a local expert guide. You get to experience a great Combo of Icelandic Nature, Icelandic History and of course Icelandic Culture. Entrance fee is all included.

Goðafoss is in the glacial river Skjálfandafljót and is one of Iceland´s great waterfalls. Goðafoss plays a large part in Icelandic history. The legend tells of a local chieftain Þorgeir, who threw statues of the pagan gods into a waterfall after the nation became Christians. The name Goðafoss means waterfall of the gods.

Christmas House: Open all year round, this magical house and garden looks like it came straight from a book of fairy tales. Outside in the garden there are plenty of hidden things for you to find and enjoy! Upon entering the Christmas House you are greeted with the warmth of a log fire and the songs and the scents of the festive season even in the middle of summer. Try to find the Icelandic Yule lad´s troll mother (Gryla) hidden in her cave. The Christmas House is a magical place to visit, all year round. Every corner is filled with Christmas magic so take your time to look around. Next to the Christmas house is a wonderful shop where you can sample local jams or buy a souvenir to take home.

The Forest Lagoon, is located just outside of Akureyri, with an amazing view over to the town and surrounding mountains. The Geothermal pool is brand new, opened in the summer of 2022. It includes a bistro, two infinity pools with swim-up bars, a cold tub and a sauna. The pools are heated up with a natural geothermal water that actually come from inside the mountain behind the lagoon itself. The water was discovered during a road tunnel project. The water is rich in good minerals that are believed to have good healing powers.

On arriving back to the town we take you on a short but nice sightseeing tour of Akureyri.
