VISIT TO THE AMETHYST MINE IN WINTER
Description
We will pick you up in the morning at the accommodation and head to Laampivaara Hill in Luosto.
Once there, they will pick us up on the famous “pendolino” with which we can go up to the top of the hill, after admiring the incredible views of the snowy Pyhä-Luosto National Park, they will tell us all about this peculiar amethyst mine that is more than 2,000 million years old and which is still being exploited manually without any machinery today.
After the explanation, you will have the opportunity to enter the mine and dig until you find your own amethyst! In addition, if it fits all in your hand, you can take it home as a keepsake.
After the tour we will take you back to the accommodation.
