Family-Friendly: Husky, Reindeer and Ice Fishing Experience

Experience a proper Arctic day with all must-do activities combined to accommodate needs of families. Feel the speed of huskies, enjoy a traditional Lappish journey with reindeer safari, and spend time as the Finns usually do - drill the hole through the thick ice and enjoy ice fishing.
After putting on warm clothing (recommended as it can be very cold during the tour), your guide will drive you to the heart of the beautiful Taiga forest, approximately 20 minutes from Rovaniemi. As soon as you leave the city, you can start enjoying the magical snowy forests and surrounding landscapes.
Your guide will drive you to a private reindeer farm to meet the most iconic animal of Lapland. At the farm you will have a chance to ask about these beautiful animals to learn more and you will be invited to take a seat in a sleigh pulled by a reindeer. The reindeer sleigh ride is an old way of traveling or carrying loads. As you go through the snowy forest and white scenery, you might spot some other Arctic animals.
Later on you will be introduced to your own husky team and given safety instructions. Once ready, you will embark on a great sled ride adventure through the winter scenery for about 5 minutes to experience the thrill and speed of our huskies.
After these great moments with reindeer and huskies, you will have an opportunity to try ice fishing. Once you have found a promising spot, your guide will show you how to drill your own hole in the ice, and teach you the basic techniques of how to ice fish. Then, it is just a matter of time and patience before you can feel the first bites! This is just the perfect moment to appreciate the silent wilderness spreading all around you. With good fishing fortune, you might catch lake trout, for example.
