Our core mission is to safeguard and celebrate the maritime cultural legacy of the Finnish south-west coast, the Archipelago Sea, and the Baltic Sea.

We not only host our events but also lend our support to initiatives organized by others, acting as a hub for various maritime endeavors.

Behind the scenes, the Forum Marinum Maritime Centre is lovingly administered by the Forum Marinum Foundation, which was established in 1998. We're also proud members of the Finnish Museums Association, the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and the International Council of Maritime Museums (ICMM).

New Sea Monsters exhibition for the whole family! The exhibition is introduced by the magnificent Carta Marina sea chart from 1539, a time when the world was thought to be flat and the seas were believed to be teeming with all sorts of strange creatures. In this playful exhibition, mythical sea monsters also lead visitors to the facts of maritime navigation.
