Vesuvius is one of the most studied and well-known volcanoes in the world. Symbol of Naples with its unique shape, it has a typical whip-conical shape, with its highest peak reaching 1277 meters. The crater currently has a diameter of 450 meters and a depth of 300 meters. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae, as well as several other settlements. Pick up at the Naples hotel/port/station around 9:00 to 9:30 and transfer via highway directly to the village of Torre del Greco where we begin our climb passing through the Vesuvius National Park up to an altitude of 1000 meters. From the car park you can access the path that leads to the top of the only volcano still active in continental Europe. Two hours at your disposal to reach the summit and walk around the crater at 1200 meters to admire the enchanting Bay of Naples from Capo Miseno to the tip of Campanella. Appointment at the parking lot at the time indicated by the driver and return to Naples with arrival at the hotel around 13:00
