South Coast Itinerary
- Depart from Reykjavik
We’ll set off early from Reykjavik, heading east toward Iceland’s magnificent South Coast. Along the way, soak in scenic views of volcanoes, mountains, and farmlands. - Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
Our first major stop is at the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This 60-meter-tall waterfall is unique as it allows you to walk behind the falls, giving you an entirely different perspective of its cascading beauty. Bring a raincoat if you want to explore from behind! - Skógafoss Waterfall
A short drive from Seljalandsfoss, the powerful Skógafoss waterfall awaits. One of Iceland's most photographed locations, Skógafoss drops 60 meters and offers a mesmerizing view, with mist often creating rainbows on sunny days. You can climb the staircase beside the falls for a panoramic view over Iceland’s lush lowlands. - Sólheimajökull Glacier
Next, we’ll stop at Sólheimajökull, a magnificent glacier tongue extending from the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. If you’re interested, add a glacier hike or snowmobiling adventure to get up close and personal with the icy terrain. Expert guides will equip you and lead the way. - Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
We continue our journey to Reynisfjara, the world-famous black sand beach. Known for its dramatic waves and striking basalt columns, Reynisfjara is a photographer's dream. Nearby, the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks add to the surreal, otherworldly atmosphere of this iconic beach. - Lunch in Vik
We’ll make a stop in the quaint seaside village of Vik for lunch. With its charming ambiance and picturesque views, Vik is the perfect place to relax and refuel before continuing our adventure. - Horseback Riding on the Black Sand Beach
After lunch, enjoy a unique Icelandic experience: horseback riding along the black sand beaches. Riding Icelandic horses, known for their friendly nature and smooth gait, you’ll feel connected to both the landscape and Icelandic culture as you travel along the windswept shore. - Optional Add-Ons
