From Jaen: Oil Mill private visit

Olive oil production has shaped the landscape of the province throughout history. The immense “olive forest” that populates the entire territory of Jaén is dotted with numerous buildings with a specific architecture, dedicated to the conversion of olives into oil.

These are the olive oil mills.Places, which can be visited today, show the mechanized process by which the fruit of the olive grove is converted into the healthiest juice of all, extra virgin olive oil. Although the industrial activity of the olive oil mills is directly related to the harvest period – in the last quarter of the year and the beginning of the next – there are numerous factories open to visitors at any time of the year.

Jaén has the largest olive groves on the planet and the largest production of extra virgin olive oil in the world... and it is the territory that receives the most awards and recognition for quality.Our activity begins by visiting part of the olive grove where the olives are grown. We visit the oil mill and the facilities where they participate in the process of making the "liquid gold".
