Layering under a drysuit is crucial for staying warm and comfortable during cold-water diving. Here's a basic guide to layering under a drysuit:
- Base Layer:Start with a moisture-wicking base layer made of materials like polyester or merino wool. This layer helps wick sweat away from your skin to keep you dry and comfortable. Avoid cotton as it retains moisture, which can make you feel cold and damp.
- Insulating Layer:The insulating layer provides warmth by trapping heat close to your body. Fleece or synthetic fleece materials are excellent choices for insulation. They provide warmth even when wet and dry quickly. Consider the thickness of the insulating layer based on the water temperature and your personal cold tolerance.
