Arctic Paths of Poetry - A poetic hiking experience in the Bardufoss Region

Description

Imagine feeling the lightly damp moss as you reach to sit down under the shadow of a hundred-year-old spruce tree, feel its rough and rugged bark against your back. While you close your eyes, the Arctic forest sounds are mixed with the most wonderful lines of poetry.

This experience combines hiking and local culture in the most perfect way, and is suited for you who are looking for a deeper way to connect with the Arctic nature. Your guide will bring you into our magnificent forest landscapes and recite lines from local poets and writers. This is a slow adventure and an unforgettable encounter with the unique Arctic nature, meant to help your body relax by using your senses and opening your mind. The focus is here and now, being present and curious.

Your guide will meet you at Høgtun. The paths we're walking are partly narrow and rough, and we recommend you to wear proper hiking boots. The weather in the Arctic can be a bit harsh, so please dress accordingly. Please note that this walk is considered easy. Your guide may ask you to not bring your mobile phones or to turn them on silent during the walk, as the experience depends on a "non-disturbing" environment.

One of our goals for this poetry walk is to experience our nature without severe impact. We care greatly about sustainable tourism!

This tour is organized in the period May 1st and September 30th.

Please note that we require a minimum of two participants for the guided hike to be organized.
