Guided hike to the Giant's Kettles of Øvre Dividal National Park

Description

Amongst the old pine forests, along the powerful Divi River, lies the Giant’s Kettles. Join our guide for a scenic hike into Øvre Dividal National Park, and hear stories about the local settlers, the Sámi people, and how the Giant’s Kettles were created.

We meet on the doorstep of the wilderness, at the historic hotel Rundhaug Gjestegård, where your guide leads you through a pre-show and shares local knowledge and preparations for the hike. We drive together into the National Park area, where we hike through the pine forests towards the Divi River rushing through the gorges. The landscape of the Divi Valley is pure and unique, with spectacular views towards the massive mountains.

After about 20 minutes by foot we arrive at the Finn bridges and the Giant’s Kettles. Walking over the bridges is a powerful experience as the frothy river flows along the steep edges beneath your feet. We will take our time soaking in the impressions. If the conditions allow it we walk further into the National Park before we stop for lunch.

Your guide will prepare and serve your lunch outdoors. We serve a delicious homemade reindeer stew with roots deep into the local culture. Our tour ends back at Rundhaug Gjestegård.

This tour is organized in the period June 1st and September 30th. Book up to 48 hours before the adventure starts.

Please note that we require a minimum of two participants for the guided hike to be organized.
