Beyond the Surface: A Geology Adventure

Description

Join us for a deep dive into the geological and natural history of the Bardufoss Region at Andsfjellet! The mountain is located in the heart of the region and has 360 view - a perfect location for watching the meandring Målselv River, the fjord landscape, the lush valleys, and the alpine mountains of Istindan. Discover the close connection between geology, flora and fauna!

The Bardufoss region got its characteristic landforms from the work of the Fennoscandian ice sheet which covered the region during the last glacial period. Your guide will take you through the major historical events and make sure you walk away with a deeper appreciation of the nature of the Bardufoss Region.

Your adventure starts at Høgtun Kulturklynge where you meet your guide. Together we drive towards Andsfjellet where we hike our way through great geology stories. We stop for a light lunch with great view towards the Målselv Valley.

This tour is organized in the period June 1st and September 30th. Book up to 24 hours before the adventure starts.

Please note that we require a minimum of two participants for the guided hike to be organized.
