Guided Snowshoe Hike to Amazing Viewpoint of the Bardufoss Region

Join us for a showshoe walk in our winter wonderland in the middle of the Bardufoss Region. We start our adventure at the main parking of Målselv Mountain Village where we buckle our snowshoes on and walk along the tracks in the Mauken Massif. The viewpoint is located about 1h walk from the parking area, and gives you a breathtaking view of the Bardufoss Region and it's magnificent landscape. We light a campfire to keep warm, eat a snack and drink some coffee before we head back. And look out for reindeer! The Mauken Massif is a popular winter grazing area for reindeer herds, so you may be lucky to spot these majestic animals. Our guide will share their knowledge of the Arctic wilderness and wildlife, and tell you stories about reindeer and the Sámi people.

This experience requires the participant to be in normal physical condition. Most people take snowshoes easily! Your guide will show you how to buckle the snowshoes securely onto your boots. If you wish to step away from the tracks, you can break your own trail and enjoy the unspoiled wilderness for a while!

This tour is organized in the period November 1st and April 30th the following year.

Duration: 3 hours

Level: Intermediate. We do not walk far, but the terrain we hike through is rough and we move off the beaten path by foot or on snowshoes. All participants must be in a normal fit physical condition.

You will need good hiking shoes, made to hike in rough terrain.
