From Granada: Ubeda & Baeza, World Hertiage Site

We will begin a guided tour of its essentials; among them, the Sacred Chapel of El Salvador, built by Francisco de los Cobos to use as a pantheon for his Palace of Dean Ortega, in Renaissance style. We will stop at the palace of Vázquez de Molina, through whose courtyard we will reach the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Nearby there is another, the Plaza 1º de Mayo, a meeting place for the people of Úbeda.The main church in Úbeda is the Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares.
We will continue walking and we will reach the Bishop's Prison. From here, we will leave to continue touring the city with the Palace of the Marquis of Mancera or the Old Dressing Room of Úbeda.In Baeza, known in history and by popular folklore as the “Royal Nest of Hawks”, it acquired great importance in the past. The Old Butcher Shops and the Civil Court and Notaries' Offices date back to these times. The Puerta de Jaén shows us what Baeza must have been like when it was a walled city, as it was one of its main entrances. The Old University of Baeza was one of the four Andalusian universities founded in the 16th century. We will visit its auditorium and the Antonio Machado Classroom.
Visit us also visit the Baeza Cathedral, a World Heritage Site since 2003. The highlights of the building include the Puerta de la Luna on its west façade and the Puerta del Perdón on the south façade.Return to the hotel in Jaén at the end of the visit to Baeza.
