Main Stops on the Golden Circle
Þingvellir National Park
Þingvellir holds deep significance for Icelanders as the site of Alþingi, the world’s oldest Parliament, founded in 930. It’s one of the few places on Earth where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge rises above ground, offering a remarkable view of tectonic forces.
Walk through the Almannagjá tectonic rift, explore the parliament’s historic grounds, marvel at the beauty of Öxaráfoss waterfall, and enjoy the scenic Þingvallavatn Lake, Iceland’s largest. Fans of Game of Thrones will recognize some iconic scenes shot here. Þingvellir is also where Icelanders embraced Christianity around the year 1000. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004.
Gullfoss Waterfall
Gullfoss is one of Iceland’s most stunning waterfalls, plunging in three steps into a canyon 64 meters deep. The curve of the canyon and the constant spray create a dramatic effect, making it appear as if the waterfall drops into an abyss. Early in the 20th century, conservationist Sólveig Tómasdóttir campaigned to protect Gullfoss, helping to preserve this natural treasure.
Geysir Geothermal Area
The Geysir geothermal area features bubbling hot springs and erupting geysers. Although the original Geysir is now mostly dormant, Strokkur erupts every few minutes, reaching heights up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Kerið Crater Lake
This striking crater lake in Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone has a unique red volcanic rock surrounding the vivid blue lake. Formed around 3,000 years ago, Kerið is 55 meters deep and offers spectacular views, contrasting the lake’s colors against the surrounding landscape.
Hvammsvik Hot Springs
As a fixed stop on our tour, Hvammsvik Hot Springs is an oasis of relaxation surrounded by nature. The hot springs offer various pools with temperatures adjusted by the incoming tides, providing an immersive experience on the shores of Hvalfjörður fjord. Tickets to Hvammsvik Hot Springs are included in the tour, allowing you to enjoy the calming waters while surrounded by Iceland’s breathtaking scenery.
Optional Activity
Friðheimar Tomato Farm
Enjoy a meal in a greenhouse at Friðheimar, where tomatoes grow year-round despite Iceland’s long winters. Surrounded by plants, you’ll be treated to tomato soup, fresh bread, and other delicious offerings.

We can add further stops to your Golden Circle tour for an additional fee, extending the duration as desired. Options include glacier hikes, snowmobiling, and a visit to the Blue Lagoon. Extra charges apply for each hour added beyond the standard tour duration.
