Chianciano: Olive Mill Tour with Oil & Food Tasting

Description
Join for a delightful olive oil tasting experience at the mill. For different nationalities, a multilingual explanatory video is available to enhance the understanding of the process.
This is the perfect opportunity to immerse in the fascinating world of extra virgin olive oil. A detailed overview of all production processes, from harvest to finished product, will be provided. During the olive harvest season, from early October to mid-December, there is a chance to witness olive processing firsthand.
Upon request, a small lesson on the tasting of EVO oil is available, covering the components of oil, its organoleptic characteristics, sensory analysis and guided tastings. Methods and conditions for optimal tasting will be explained.
In the spacious tasting room, gastronomic tastings featuring local specialties are organized, with Extra Virgin Olive Oil as the star. Guests will have the chance to taste:
- Extra virgin olive oil (a blend of moraiolo, leccino, pendolino, maurino, leccio del corno, frantoio and correggiolo varieties)
- Tuscan salame
- Tuscan Pecorino cheese
- Bruschetta with green olive paste
- Bruschetta with truffle sauce
- Chianti red wine
Inside the mill, a small shop offers the opportunity to purchase Extra Virgin Olive Oil and local products such as pecorino cheese, wines (including Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti) and preserves.
At the mill, a 16th-century wooden olive press and a special collection of artifacts from the past can be admired, providing a glimpse into the region's rich history.
