Tour of Tuscany: Montepulciano, Historic Winery, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico d’Orcia, and Val d’Orcia

This tour is an invitation to explore the unmistakable beauty of Tuscany, with its charming villages, stunning landscapes, and centuries-old winemaking traditions. The journey begins in Montepulciano, one of the most famous wine destinations in the region, and continues through some of the most picturesque locations in Val d’Orcia.

1. Montepulciano – The City of Vino Nobile Wine (11:00 am)

The morning starts in the medieval town of Montepulciano, famous for its Renaissance architecture and, of course, for the excellent Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine, considered one of Italy's most prestigious. The town is situated on top of a hill, offering stunning panoramic views of the Tuscan hills.

During the city tour, you will explore its narrow streets and historic squares, such as the Piazza Grande, which is the heart of the city. Also, visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the imposing Palazzo Comunale, a magnificent example of medieval architecture.

2. Traditional and Historic Winery of Vino Nobile (11:30 am)

The experience becomes even more special with this guided visit to a traditional winery, where you will learn about the techniques and winemaking processes that result in the famous Vino Nobile wine. The tasting with lunch allows you to try various types of wines from the region, accompanied by a lunch with local products, in a cozy and authentic setting.

3. Bagno Vignoni – A Historic Bath (2:00 pm)

A small thermal village dating back to Roman times. The highlight of Bagno Vignoni is its Piazza delle Sorgenti, a square flooded with thermal waters, creating a unique setting. The place has been famous since antiquity, when it was a center for healing and rest for the Romans. Bagno Vignoni is a perfect place for a relaxing and revitalizing break.

3. San Quirico d’Orcia – The Medieval Village (3:15 pm)

Heading to San Quirico d’Orcia, you enter a medieval village that displays the typical charm of Tuscany. The town is famous for its Piazza Chigi, with a beautiful Renaissance garden, and the Collegiata di San Quirico, a church dating back to the 13th century. Strolling through its alleys and squares is like stepping back in time, with the feeling of being in a movie set.

4. Val d’Orcia – The Iconic Landscape (4:00 pm)

The final part of the tour takes you through the Val d’Orcia, one of the most photographed places in Tuscany, with its rolling hills, lined cypress trees, and golden fields of wheat and sunflowers. The region is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its landscapes offer a unique visual experience.

During the trip, you will have time to admire the natural beauty, with strategic stops for photos and to soak in the bucolic atmosphere of the region. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the most beautiful sunset in Tuscany, perhaps even in the world.

6. Return with arrival at (6:30 pm) - We will end our tour where you prefer: At your Hotel or Piazzale Michelangelo for a beautiful sunset, or at Florence's largest shopping mall, I Gigli.
