Zodiac and Exploration Tour

Join us on an adventure tour, where we explore the highlights of Iceland’s glaciers. Sail around floating icebergs and the hike of a lifetime in one of Iceland's most breathtaking glacial landscapes. On the Zodiac tour, cover large areas of the Glacier Lagoon and get close to the icebergs. Let your guide lead you through a breathtaking glacier walk, exploring the glacial landscapes of Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. Equipped with all safety equipment needed for this combo tour. THE TOUR

This combo tour includes a 40-minute super jeep ride to the glacier, 2 hours of exploring the glacier on foot, and a 40-minute ride back to the Glacier Lagoon. Once you arrive back at the Glacier Lagoon you will have a minimum of 30-45 minute break before the next activity begins, the Zodiac boat tour. The activity can also start with the zodiac boat tour followed by a glacier walk. Whatever option you choose, there will always be a little break between activities, so you can go to the bathroom and have a little lunch. The activities occur at the Glacier Lagoon and the meeting point for both activities is less than 10 meters apart.

On the Ice Exploration tour, you will spend around 2 hours hiking on Breiðamerkurjökull with one of our experienced guides.

It is highly advisable to take a camera, or at least a phone, to capture the amazing moments, because it will not be long before the glacial formations change or even disappear as they normally do.

Tour structure:

Morning Glacier Walk and Afternoon Zodiac Boat Tour (8:30 Meeting time)

• We meet by our Super-jeeps near the WC and café at the Glacier Lagoon.
• Gearing-up takes approximately 30 minutes.
• A 40-minute drive to the glacier is followed by a 15-minute walk.
• You will explore the glacier for about 2 hours.
• The return involves walking to the jeep and driving to the Glacier Lagoon.
• A lunch break (30-45 minutes)
• Check-in is at the ticket sale 30 minutes before departure on the Zodiac Tour.
• Passengers are provided with flotation suites and a life jacket.
• The tour is around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Morning Zodiac Boat Tour and Afternoon Glacier Walk (9:20 & 10:30 Meeting times)

• Check-in is at the ticket sale 30 minutes before departure on the Zodiac Tour.
• Passengers are provided with flotation suites and a life jacket.
• The tour is around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
• A lunch break (30-45 minutes)
• We meet by our Super-jeeps near the WC and café at the Glacier Lagoon.
• Gearing-up takes approximately 30 minutes.
• A 40-minute drive to the glacier is followed by a 15-minute walk.
• You will explore the glacier for about 2 hours.
• The return involves walking to the jeep and driving to the Glacier Lagoon.

Important information: When you book the glacier walk you should be in good health and able to walk 4-6 km in different types of weather. We operate in any weather (rain, wind, cold) so please dress appropriately. If you don’t think walking 4-6 km on a glacier is something for you, please request a refund at least 48 hours before the tour. It is not possible to receive a refund if you cancel on the same day of the tour, or if you cancel mid-tour.
