4 Day/3 Night Rio Negro Cruise

Description

Day 1

At 08:30 am we pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Manaus Port where you will get on the boat, and this is where your Amazon trip begins. First we go to the meeting of the waters about twenty kilometers downstream, and from there, you go to January Lake, traveling through one of the many streams in the region. You will have a short walk to a spot where you can see the water-lilies and some indigenous handicrafts. We board for lunch, and at 02:30 pm, the group leaves by a motorized boat to fish for piranha. When it gets dark, we'll go Cayman spotting. Then the boat will travel upriver, where you will spend a night on board.

Day 2

At 05:30 am, the group will leave on a motorized boat to see the sunrise, a great opportunity to spot some birds and river dolphins. Then we head back to the boat for breakfast. At 08:00 am, you leave on a jungle walk. During this walk the guide will explain the flora and fauna of the Amazon. After the two and a half-hour walk, you come back to the boat to have lunch. Then your boat leaves upstream to the Anavilhanas Archipelago. At 03:00 pm in a small boat, you have a chance to get closer to the archipelagos. It is a good chance to see some wildlife like birds, monkeys, and other animals in the region. Back on board the boat, then you travel to a suitable place to spend the night onboard.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served while the boat travels to the Rio Negro river. There will be a stop at an indigenous community where we will go out and visit them, as well as participate in their welcome dance. Then we will move by boat to the other side to a floating house where you can swim with the dolphins taking photos and videos of this once-in-a-lifetime event. At 03:00 pm the group leaves by a motorized boat to the small channels of the region and explore the Igapos of the Rio Negro to spot birds and other animals found in that area of the Amazon Rainforest. Afterwards, we board the boat for the night.

If the group would like to spend the night in the jungle, it is possible, but we will have to skip the afternoon activities and set up camp overnight.

Day 4

Breakfast is served onboard, and after breakfast, the group will go and visit a local family of the region and learn more about their way of life out in the Amazon Jungle. Back on board, lunch is served. After, the boat will begin to sail down the river on the way back to Manaus, arriving around 04:30 pm. Our staff will be waiting for you with the transportation back to the hotel or airport as the client requested.
