5 Day/4 Night Rio Negro Cruise

Description

Day 1

At 08:30 am we will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Manaus Port where you will get on a boat. Here is where your Amazon trip begins. First, we go to the meeting of the waters, about twenty kilometers downstream. From there, we head to January Lake, traveling through one of the many streams found in the region. We will then take a short walk to a spot where you can see the water-lilies and some indigenous handicrafts. Then it's back on board for lunch. At 02:30 pm, the group leaves by a motorized boat to fish for piranhas, and when night falls, we go cayman spotting. Then your boat travels upriver, where you will spend the night onboard.

Day 2

At 05:30 am, the group will leave on a motorized boat to see the sunrise, a great opportunity to spot some birds and river dolphins. Then we head back to the boat for breakfast. At 08:00 am, you leave on a jungle walk. During this walk, the guide will explain the flora and fauna of the Amazon. After the two-and-a-half-hour walk, you come back to the boat to have lunch. Then your boat leaves upstream to the Anavilhanas Archipelago. At 03:00 pm in a small boat, you have a chance to get closer to the archipelagos. It is a good chance to see some wildlife like birds, monkeys, and other animals in the region. Back on board the boat, then you travel to a suitable place to spend the night on board.

Day 3

Breakfast is served while the boat travels along the Rio Negro river. There will be a stop at an indigenous community where we will go out and visit them, as well as participate in their welcome dance. Then we will move by boat to the other side, to a floating house where you can swim with Pink River Dolphins and take photos as well as videos of this once-in-a-lifetime event. At 03:00 pm, we will leave by motorized boat to the small channels of the region, and explore the Igapos of the Rio Negro to spot birds and other animals found in that area of the Amazon Rainforest. Afterwards, we board the boat for the night.

If the group would like to spend the night in the jungle, it is possible, but we will have to skip the afternoon activities and set up camp overnight.

Day 4

You will enjoy breakfast aboard the boat, and afterwards, the group will go out and visit a local family, learning about their way of life in the Amazon.

At 03:00 pm, we'll go to the igarapes and paddle along them, exploring this beautiful part of the Amazon and enjoying the natural scenery while looking out for animals like sloths and monkeys.

Day 5

After breakfast, the group will leave on another hike in a different part of the jungle, where the guide will explain more about the flora and fauna, as well as some Survival techniques.

After boarding the boat, lunch is served. We will then sail downstream back to Manaus, arriving around 04:30 pm. Arriving there, our staff will be waiting for you with the transportation back to the hotel or airport as requested.
